Sadhna Prasad

Sadhna Prasad (aka Sadh.Press) is a multi-media artist and muralist who currently resides and practices in Mumbai, India. Her process is rooted in memory and unfettered imagination, which allows her to construct detailed alternative worlds within her work.

Through the usage of vibrant cultural imagery and a diverse range of artistic mediums spanning painting on canvases and walls, Sadhna’s work becomes a vessel to explore collectivism, climate action and waste management, the complexities of intersectionality, and the importance of conservation. She finds inspiration in the local and the everyday—depicting people, nature, colour, and objects creating an interplay between spaces and the various human senses. She describes her experimentation with colour as a “structured chaos” layered with complex patterns that hold childhood memories and forms that depict an abstract version of the self.

Sadhna was a co-founder of the Aravani Art Project, an artist collective from India led by transwomen and cis women, where she worked from 2016 until 2022. During her time with the collective, she was the recipient of several grants and residencies, including the Artist Grantee FB Air Programme, Menlo Park (2018), India Foundation for the Arts (2019), Khoj International Artists Association (2020), and Goethe Institut (2020). In 2024, she served as a Digital Artist in Residence for Apple x India Art Fair in Delhi. Most recently, she was selected as one of the residents for the International Studio & Curatorial Program Grant in New York City in 2025, supported by the Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation.
