Anpu Varkey

Anpu Varkey, an artist with an ardent passion for heights, time travel, and barren landscapes, has been creating monumental public art murals for over a decade. For Varkey, public art is not merely a social messaging campaign, but a means of creatively challenging the audience. 

Led by her core intuition that learning from the streets and working on the streets go hand-in-hand, she derives inspiration from the immediate surroundings, such as roads, lamp posts, intersections to forge an emotional link with the viewers.

Her dedication to public art extends beyond murals; she has self-published two graphic books and has curated several street festivals, most recently ‘Theruvara,’ a street-drawing festival in Trissur.
