Surface and Memory: an image transfer workshop with Kapil Jangid

Gallery XXL presents Surface and Memory, an image transfer workshop with artist Kapil Jangid (@streetdog0506), exploring materiality and the ways surfaces can hold memory, traces, and personal narratives.

Rooted in Kapil’s practice engaging with architecture, urban landscapes, labour, and material exploration, the workshop will introduce participants to techniques of transferring photographic imagery onto surfaces such as MDF boards, ceramic tiles, glass, and other materials.

Through guided exercises and experimentation, participants will learn how everyday materials can become sites for storytelling and visual intervention.

As part of the workshop, each participant is required to submit one photograph prior to the session, which they will work with during the workshop.
