Présentation

Join us for a 3 Part Sonic Journey through sabr, ghar, suroor curated by Lush Lata responding to the exhibition title which takes from three works within the Urdu series created by Hanif Kureshi — Sabr (patience and perseverance), Ghar (home), and Suroor (joy or exhilaration).

Act 1 // Krishna Kureti // Sabr:

Krishna Kureti is a Yoga teacher, Sound Healer, and Gong Master dedicated to guiding others toward balance, peace, and self-discovery through the transformative power of sound and movement. Founder of Akshya Nãda, Krishna combines ancient yogic wisdom with the healing vibrations of Tibetan Singing Bowls and Gongs to create deeply restorative experiences.

Trained at the International Academy of Sound Healing, Krishna specializes in Chakra Balancing, Meridian Sound Therapy, and Brainwave Relaxation. With a background as a chef turned holistic practitioner, his approach blends mindfulness, sensory awareness, and soulful connection…inviting each participant to journey inward and experience harmony at every level of being.

Act II // Geetanjali // Ghar:

Geetanjali Kalta is a folk artist from Himachal Pradesh, working at the intersections of music, sound, and theatre. Rooted in the folk traditions of the Himalayas, their practice explores identity, resistance, and belonging—reimagining the sounds and stories of mountain villages for the world. Their music rises from the memory of home, bending genres and breaking definitions, creating a third space where stories are retold, and new narratives of freedom and imagination take shape.

Act III // Kartikeya Vashist // Suroor:

Kartikeya Vashist is a name that immediately connects you to a whole world of music and specifically the flute.  Imagine sounds from the mountains, to the beaches, to the desert and to the forests as you encounter this virtuoso who's been enthralling audiences far and wide with his music and vibe. He has performed in various cities all over India and various countries abroad namely Sweden, Estonia, Lithuania, Germany, Belgium, Thailand, Dubai and Indonesia. He started his training in bansuri from Shri Sujit Mandal (who belongs to pt Pannalal Ghosh style of flute playing) under Shri Sameer Rao (who's a senior disciple of pt Hariprasad Chaurasia), from Shri Tagaram Bheel (under whom he studied Rajasthani double flutes the alghoza).

He also got the chance to study under the legend Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia himself and also has been studying world music under Dr L Shankar.
