Biografie
Raj Chowdhury is a self taught artist based in West Bengal. Chowdhury’s works employ striking pastel colours, text and figurative characters that are heavily influenced by imagery he comes across on media platforms. With an inclination towards the form of abstract realism, Chowdhury’s gestural marks and poems become an introspection into his own dreams and ideas about inequalities that persist in society. Chowdhury has participated in various solo and group shows at Aurodhan Art Gallery, Pondicherry, 2019; Ivana Art Gallery, Kolkata, 2020; Alliance Française du Bengale, Kolkata, 2020; Si Bambai, Kala Ghoda, Mumbai, 2020; Ampass Art Gallery, New Delhi, 2021; Kolkata Centre for Creativity, Kolkata, 2022; and Laxmi Studio, New Delhi, 2022.
