A series of black-and-white acrylics on canvas, made through his father's illness and in the period after his death — a stretch of time in which Bikash found himself unable to create. Here white does not signify absence; it holds what has been suppressed, memory surfacing only where the black allows it to. He has spoken of finding clarity at night rather than in the passing distraction of day, and these works reach for that same depth — not painted around the blackness, but built from inside it, so that what emerges does so slowly, and only in the dark.
