Biography
Anikesa Dhing was born in Udaipur, and lives and works in Vadodara. She graduated from MS University, Vadodara with an undergraduate and postgraduate degree in Fine Arts. The artist uses a vibrant range of colours and lines which resonate with a “‘pop”’ visual vocabulary that lie between the disciplines of fine art and design.

Anikesa’s practice focuses on a renewed relationship with the material world through aspects of knowledge, perception and memory. With overwhelming visuals and scale, she tries to induce a sense of uncertainty to what we think is ‘known.’ Through such works, Anikesa talks about the sentimental tendencies materialism holds, and the transactional values of the object-oriented universe. The visual bombardment of images present in her work mimics the anxiety of transitoriness and desire in a manner that narrates the story of an object as a prime protagonist.

Anikesa has previously exhibited at India Art Fair with Studio Nyn (2024), at Art Mumbai with Gallery XXL (2023), numerous exhibitions with Gallery XXL (2023 and 2024), and at a solo exhibition titled “ice-cream melting at the bouncy castle” at Anant Art Gallery (2022). In 2024, she was also a part of the Khoj International Artist Residency in collaboration with Misk Art Institute.
